About The Position
In the dynamic realm of the Google Cloud Developer Experience team, our mission is to nurture the success of cloud developers, one unique journey at a time. Embedded within this collective effort is the Cloud Editing team, a group dedicated to shaping initiatives that enhance the caliber of all Google Cloud technical content. Our role extends beyond crafting compelling content; we provide essential editorial oversight for Google Cloud architecture materials. As the Technical Editor, you won’t be just a contributor; you’ll be an integral part of a vibrant team of editors. Together, we establish and uphold quality standards, ensure the content remains fresh, and work on expanding our editorial expertise. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, and you’ll have the chance to build meaningful connections across diverse teams, fostering an environment of shared success.
Responsibilities
- Guide content creators on appropriate format, audience, and language usage.
- Advocate for users by ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability in content creation.
- Enhance templates and style guides for scalable workflows.
- Define and implement optimal editorial workflows for specific projects.
- Manage content processes for high-priority initiatives across teams.
- Collaborate with editors from different teams to establish and maintain best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree or possess equivalent practical experience, reflecting a commitment to both academic and hands-on learning.
- Bring with you a wealth of 7 years of experience in the realms of technical editing, technical writing, or content management, showcasing a seasoned and multifaceted professional journey.
- Demonstrate a proven track record in producing or editing technical documentation specifically tailored for a developer audience, emphasizing a keen understanding of their needs and preferences.
- Showcase familiarity and proficiency with Markdown, highlighting a skill set attuned to modern and collaborative writing practices in the technical domain.
