Job Description

As a Full-Stack Rails Tech Lead, you will architect and implement LLM-powered web applications within a microservices-based Rails 8 environment. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will lead a small, high-impact team to deliver visually rich user experiences across the company’s financial portfolio. This role involves merging expert-level Ruby on Rails development with advanced AI integration for state management and user interactions. You will work in a remote-first hybrid environment, utilizing the ShapeUp methodology to manage project delivery and system architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for microservices orchestration
• Advanced front-end development skills using React for complex components
• Familiarity with graph databases used for managing complex financial data
• Active contributions to open-source Ruby on Rails or AI-related projects
• Experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain or Hugging Face

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of expert-level experience in Ruby and Ruby on Rails (Rails 6-8)
• Deep technical proficiency in PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, and Docker
• Strong front-end skills in StimulusJS, Tailwind CSS, and modern JavaScript (ES6)
• Proven experience integrating AI/ML models and APIs like xAI or Anthropic into web apps

Work Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain scalable Rails applications on a modern Rails 8 platform
• Integrate Large Language Models into microservices for real-time user experiences
• Enhance front-end interactions using Hotwire, StimulusJS, or React
• Optimize LLM inference to ensure low latency and cost-effectiveness via caching
• Shape system architecture and mentor teammates with a “get things done” mentality

Salary Range

$170k – $200k
