Role Description at Dropbox
As a Social Media Intern with Dropbox, you’ll dive into a role that involves not only creating content but also managing our vibrant community. You’ll take the lead in generating new and captivating ideas, crafting visually stunning visuals, and grasping the subtleties of content that truly connects on social platforms. If you have a fervor for brainstorming innovative concepts, shaping visually appealing content, and grasping the intricacies of successful social media interactions, we’re eager to get to know you.
In this position, you’ll be under the guidance of the Head of Social Media, becoming an integral part of Dropbox’s Communications Team. We look forward to welcoming your unique perspective and energy into our dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities for This Role
- Crafting Compelling Content: Let your creativity flow as you generate imaginative ideas for social content on Dropbox’s brand channels. Produce shareable content in various formats, such as gifs, images, or short-form videos. Whenever necessary, tap into the support of our in-house creative resources or collaborate with agency partners.
- Nurturing Our Community: Be the eyes and ears of our social community, assessing its well-being and identifying opportunities for Dropbox to foster deeper engagement with our followers. Your insights will help us build stronger connections with our social audience.
- Social Awareness and Reporting: Stay tuned to the pulse of social media trends, discussions, and sentiments related to Dropbox and the tech industry. Monitor mentions of Dropbox and contribute valuable insights to social listening reports as needed.
- Tailored Collaboration: We understand the importance of balancing work and academics. Collaboratively, we’ll coordinate with your school’s schedule to ensure a 12-week internship duration that aligns seamlessly with your academic commitments. We look forward to embarking on this journey together!
Qualification Required
- Currently on the journey to earning a BS in Business, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field, with an anticipated graduation in Spring 2026.
- Well-acquainted with editing and graphic design tools, showcasing a knack for creating captivating social content.
- Possess strong writing skills and a keen understanding of how words and visuals harmonize on social media to create impactful narratives.
- An active participant on social media platforms such as TikTok, Threads, and Instagram, with a solid grasp of their features, layouts, algorithm changes, and various formats.
- Fuelled by a genuine passion for social media, cultural news, and staying abreast of the latest tech trends.
- Thriving in a Virtual First environment, you’re comfortable navigating the digital landscape with ease and enthusiasm.
Salary Offered For This Role
In Canada, the anticipated salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) rate for this role stands at C$3,500 per month, with the possibility of adjustments.
