About the role in Conduent
The Senior Manager of Bid Management is responsible for overseeing the entire bid process, crafting compelling value propositions for our Government Health Solutions division. In this role, you’ll coordinate a diverse team of experts from business development, account management, finance, legal, technology, and proposal writing to ensure our bids are top-notch. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding these professionals through the sales cycle, capture strategies, and proposal creation, ultimately enhancing our ability to win new business and deliver exceptional results for our clients.
Responsibilities at Conduent Careers
- Responsible for structuring Professional Services and SaaS opportunities with State Government entities.
- Develops strategic and tactical sales approaches to achieve successful business outcomes, including capture plans and high-quality proposals.
- Guides deals through internal costing, legal reviews, risk assessment and mitigation, and presents these opportunities for approval.
- Manages the creation of winning proposals featuring innovative and profitable agreements that meet client needs and distinguish Conduent in the market.
- Oversees and prioritizes a multi-year, dynamic pipeline to align resources strategically.
- Exercises leadership by acting as both an advocate and a challenger.
- Engages, guides, and coordinates bid team members effectively.
- Demonstrates the ability to develop and execute well-designed bid management project plans, using established tools and processes, and adapting creatively when necessary.
- Applies strong financial acumen and risk analysis skills.
- Guides the development and justification of cost elements.
- Leads multiple pursuits, including hands-on creation of critical bid documents, ensuring the integrity of the winning strategy through submission.
- Adheres to and contributes to Capture and Proposal Plans.
- Supports the Orals presentation process, including solution validation, collateral and talking point development, and performance coaching.
- Effectively presents to all levels of management, including senior leadership during deal reviews.
- Represents “One Conduent” by influencing actions and decisions that positively impact revenue, delivery, compliance, and client satisfaction.

Requirements For This Role
- Have extensive experience in business development, capture, and proposal development roles with increasing responsibility.
- Have several years of experience managing teams or leading complex projects.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the Government market, Healthcare Services, and SaaS.
- Have a proven track record of structuring and obtaining strategy approval for opportunities ranging from $20M to over $250M.
- Have experience collaborating with federal, state, and local government business development teams.
- Understand technical solutions, including SaaS and Fixed Fee Services.
- Have the ability to translate technical solutions into strategic business decisions.
- Be proactive, anticipating issues, challenges, and objections before they arise.
- Demonstrate confidence when working with executives and leading teams.
- Effectively communicate key aspects of opportunities and proposals to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (preferred).

Depending on business needs, this role may also be eligible for bonuses or incentives.
