About the Team
The Product & Data Engineering team is the powerhouse behind Disney’s world-class consumer-facing products. If you’re passionate about Disney careers remote roles, this team is responsible for the end-to-end development of streaming platforms like Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, as well as digital experiences across iconic brands like Marvel, NatGeo, and Disney World. Our work impacts millions of users across platforms like Apple, Android, Smart TVs, and gaming consoles, focusing on features like personalization, search, messaging, and data.
Within this, the Web Platform Engineering team is dedicated to crafting highly optimized tools and solutions that power Disney’s web products. We provide scalable solutions shared across the organization, from core libraries to sophisticated UI systems, allowing web teams to develop products at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and develop scalable, high-performance solutions for the shared web platform.
- Collaborate with various engineering teams across the company to drive the adoption of shared solutions.
- Define and implement best practices to continuously improve performance and scalability.
- Work closely with other teams to create and deliver reusable abstractions.
- Stay ahead of the curve by researching and evaluating new technologies.
Basic Qualifications
- Over 7 years of experience in building scalable, high-performance web applications that serve millions of users.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in architecting complex technical solutions, with the ability to share knowledge and gain consensus.
- Expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, NPM, and related technologies.
- Familiarity with modern build tools like Webpack, TurboPack, Rollup, Vite, esbuild, etc.
- Strong understanding of the HTTP request-response cycle.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in deploying high-availability React/Node.js applications on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
- Broad knowledge of web standards and emerging technologies.
- Experience in setting up continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
Compensation
The salary range for this position varies by location:
- Los Angeles, CA, and Bristol, CT: $149,300 – $200,200 per year
- Seattle, WA, and New York, NY: $156,300 – $209,600 per year
- San Francisco, CA: $163,500 – $219,200 per year
Base pay is determined by factors such as geographic location, relevant experience, skills, and internal equity. A comprehensive benefits package, including potential bonuses or long-term incentive units, will also be offered depending on the position level.
