What you will be doing Amerisource Bergen

As the Licensing Specialist, you’ll collaborate closely with the Sr. Director of Regulatory Licensing and Licensing Manager to oversee and ensure the status of licenses and related paperwork for our distribution centers. This encompasses licenses for wholesale distribution, third-party logistics, controlled substances, and pharmacies. Your role involves handling the preparation, execution, and submission of various applications, including new applications, renewals, and amendments. You’ll also manage all supporting documentation. Regular communication with regulatory bodies, like state Boards of Pharmacy, to track the progress and approval of license submissions will be part of your responsibilities.

Given the crucial role of proper licensure in our operations, we’re seeking someone with the experience and capability to work independently and professionally. Your tasks will include preparing and filing license and renewal applications, updating systems, and direct collaboration with our facilities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the submission and renewal procedures for wholesale distribution, third-party logistics, and controlled substance licenses across the company’s operational units.
  2. Decipher regulatory and application criteria for licensing and effectively communicate these requirements to internal stakeholders.
  3. Engage with federal and state regulatory agencies participating in the licensing approval process, addressing inquiries about licensing prerequisites, and status, and negotiating information disclosures.
  4. Coordinate with colleagues from various departments to interpret licensing prerequisites, collect necessary data for applications,
  5. Maintain an accurate license management database covering application tracking, renewals, issue and expiration dates, license numbers, and filing status.
  6. Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned.

Experience and Educational Requirements

  • Understands commercial, corporate, and regulatory aspects, acquired through pertinent educational background or practical work exposure.
  • Possesses a minimum of four (4) years or more of directly related and progressively challenging experience.
  • Preferably has experience in law, regulatory affairs, compliance, or related fields.
  • Highly desirable to have worked in the legal department or contract administration group of a public or private company.

  •  Capable of working autonomously and effectively.
  • Possesses robust research skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills.
  • Displays sound judgment and effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Shows strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Takes initiative and meets deadlines seamlessly in a fast-paced environment.

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.  $55,100 – $81,290 + Benefits and Perks.
