Job Description

As a Full-Stack Rails Tech Lead, you will architect and maintain LLM-powered web applications within a microservices-based Rails 8 platform. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will lead a high-impact team to deliver sophisticated user experiences across a diverse portfolio of financial brands. This role involves integrating AI models for state management and real-time interactions while leveraging the ShapeUp methodology for project delivery. You will play a key role in shaping system architecture and implementing core features within a remote-first hybrid environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kubernetes for microservices orchestration
• Proficiency in React for developing advanced front-end components
• Knowledge of Graph databases for managing complex financial data
• Previous contributions to open-source Ruby on Rails or AI-related projects
• Familiarity with LLM frameworks such as LangChain or Hugging Face

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of expert-level experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails (Rails 6-8)
• Deep technical knowledge of PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, and Docker
• Experience integrating AI/ML models (LLMs, NLP) into production web applications
• Expertise in front-end technologies including StimulusJS, Tailwind CSS, and HTML

Work Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain high-performance Rails 8 applications
• Integrate LLMs into microservices for state management and user interactions
• Enhance front-end experiences using Hotwire, StimulusJS, or React
• Optimize LLM inference for low latency and cost using caching and async processing
• Shape system architecture and implement core features with an entrepreneurial mindset

Salary Range

$170k – $200k
