About Position

As the Design Engineer, your central role will be partnering closely with Buffer’s Marketing team. Your key responsibilities include actively supporting the team in boosting signups, fostering a compelling brand presence, and introducing new product features. Within Buffer, this position is part of a nimble and dynamic team that juggles multiple projects concurrently. Team members are entrusted with the autonomy to manage their time and schedules effectively.

In your capacity as the Design Engineer:

  • You’ll craft engaging user experiences on our website, creating polished pages, distinctive interfaces, and tasteful animations.
  • Your focus will be on crafting and deploying top-notch, thoroughly tested, and efficient code that aligns with Buffer’s overarching objectives.
  • Close collaboration with marketing leadership, designers, and customer advocates will be integral to comprehending the requirements of our website visitors. Additionally, you’ll assess the viability of different solutions to address these needs.
  • Contributing to the enhancement of our front-end engineering standards is a key aspect of your role. This involves refining the consistency and quality of our Marketing codebases and streamlining processes.
  • Implementing data tracking on the features you develop will be crucial for analyzing user acquisition, usage patterns, and adoption post-release.

Responsibilities for This Role

  • Craft engaging and fun user experiences on buffer.com that captivate, involve, and convert internet site visitors, working in tandem with UX layout.
  • Play a key function in shaping the layout of buffer.com with the aid of prototyping ideas, growing high-acting additives, and infusing one-of-a-kind animations and experiences. Your undertaking is to elevate our pages to new heights! ✨
  • Take the lead on the technical roadmap for buffer.com, advocating for ongoing improvements to our web page’s browser performance, accessibility, and person-friendliness.
  • Contribute to the evolution of our advertising layout machine by introducing new additives to our front-end library for both internet and cellular responsive systems.
  • Collaborate intently with the marketing group to create numerous touchdown pages that increase our product launches, gasoline increase experiments, and exhibit the Open Hub—efficiently capturing Buffer’s product essence, way of life, and brand.
  • Play a pivotal position in our experimentation roadmap through executing conversion price optimization assessments on buffer.com, all even as introducing technical refinements to our net test manner.

  • Actively support the mixing of diverse equipment empowering the marketing team, including Ghost, Prismic, and Google Tag Manager. Our primary technical stack revolves around next.Js and Typescript.

  3. Navigate the digital landscape with familiarity, particularly in front-end frameworks such as Next.js, adhering to performance best practices, and making Typescript your primary driver. At our core, we prioritize the substance and richness of your experience, placing more emphasis on its depth and quality than on mere years counted. Successful candidates often bring a minimum of 5 years of development experience to the table.
  4. Thrive in a high-velocity testing environment, actively contributing to testing ideation and workflows. Feel at ease working with tools such as Figma, CMS platforms like Ghost and Prismic, and web tracking software (Google Tag Manager, Segment, etc.).
  5. Your collaborative spirit shines through in your past experiences, where you’ve closely worked with individuals from Marketing and Design. As a bonus, we’ll be thrilled if you come equipped with engineering know-how in supporting search engine optimization, web experimentation, and web tracking projects. Your well-rounded skill set is not just about what you know but how you’ve seamlessly blended technical proficiency with collaborative endeavors.
